(Claire warming up, top of the 4th inning - fantastic form!)
It is very important to both Louis and I that our kids are exposed to many different activities, and if they are so inclined, to commit to one or two. Both of us are completely comfortable driving here and there and everywhere to get all four to wherever they are going. The kids are thrilled to be exposed to so many diverse activities.
BUT
This summer I missed every one of Claire's games. Most were played after 8PM and it was too late to bring the other kids with me and with Louis being 3rd base coach it was practical to send her along with him. Turns out that I quickly ran out of season!
Yesterday, I went to two out of her three games.
Good thing. They won't be playing today. The bats were pretty silent yesterday though our Claire did get a few good hits. One player does not a team make! They're more than a bit burned out and I think they hit their peak in Ottawa a few weeks ago.
I'm so happy I was able to make it to the final weekend. The weather really delayed everything from the start of the day: it was pouring! Though, only because of the rain delay was I able to catch two out of three of Claire's games. The rain should hold off through today which is all about baseball tryouts for Caden and another Ranger hockey practice for Cole. I'm thrilled that both Claire and Cole have elected to NOT try out for Oakville baseball next season - Cole will continue to play house league and Claire will play in the girls league in Burlington. I think Claire should take the time and enjoy a well deserved sleep-in before school starts on Monday!
Do you think I'm going to get my 4 - now 5 - challenges done by the end of the weekend? Hmmm. Not to mention update the Frozen Ropes website, flyers and registration form; and, the Ranger laminated player cards? Double hmmm.
