The kindness of strangers

Some of you might know that my youngest, Caden, is the worlds biggest Baltimore Orioles fan. Coming from a baseball family, where we own a baseball training centre; see Blue Jay games regularly; and Grampy is just about the biggest Red Sox fan who ever lived (and takes us to Fenway every summer), we've decided that this is just one of the many RANDOM aspects of Caden that makes us love him so much!

One day during a "conversation" on ScrapShare, I had mentioned this peculiarity. One of the many "strangers" on the site asked for Caden's name and address so she could send him something. Though it is not my practice to do so, I sent this woman the information. Lo and behold, this week, in an envelope addressed to our young man, he received a sweet note and a post card of Camden Yards and a "CAL" sticker being distributed in Baltimore in honour of Cal Ripken (Caden's FAVOURITE player) being inducted into the Hall of Fame this summer. And, apparently, there is more to come!

Caden is thrilled. He has slept with all of the contents inside the envelope, under his pillow, with his favourite things: Tigy, baseball cards, his stuffed turtle and now his letter from Baltimore. So, again, thanks "PhotoAlbumLady" you are no longer a stranger but a woman who brought a great deal of joy to my son this week. I can't thank you enough.
