Moving: It's a love/hate thing

What do I not need right now? Another project! After the week of hockey championships and the upcoming baseball season, do I not deserve some time off? Apparently not :)!

On Easter Sunday we bought a house: a big beautiful house on the lake. The photo is of our new back yard. I can't wait to get there!

Earlier this year when Claire was accepted into Appleby we knew that it was just the beginning of our life migrating to the south part of town. I contacted a friend who is a real estate agent with a "Five Year Plan" for moving - find a location, find a house or land, find an architect, etc. at the end of the five years all four kids would be in the same school and it would be time for a big move. Well, so much for planning! We move into the PERFECT house on May 14th! Only five weeks away.

The love part: I do love to purge – Louis is a collector and we'll probably have to move all of his stuff we've been dragging around for the last 15 years! - but I have almost finished all of the kids rooms and am working on the kitchen today. If I’m lucky and get off the computer (!!) I’ll get to the laundry room as well. I'm hoping to move with HALF of what is in this house right now. Freecycle, Elaine and the garbage man are going to love me.

I also love my kids and their positive, "life is an adventure", attitude. They have already negotiated rooms from the house plans, decided where to put their furniture which has been traded and re-arranged a few times, purged their current bedrooms and are ready to pack when the boxes arrive this afternoon.

The hate part: I had to put my Creative Memories business on hold - a FULL Memoranza postponed until mid-summer, hugely risky after the year-from-hell (eta: client-from-hell) last year; the entire OMBA is coming through the facility THIS weekend AND we’re having a softball clinic; baseball season starts in mere weeks and camps have to be publicised, I'm already missing my neighbours and Louis is going to make me move his crap, again! That's okay, I'm sure he thinks the same of my scrapbooking stuff ;).

Ah, our life is never dull.

Five years to five weeks? Wow.
Great view though!
