There are many women I admire on ScrapShare. I wish that I was able to write with the same insight, humour and clarity of thought they display every day. I was thrilled to be able to meet one of them yesterday! Though I've never been a proponent of meeting, in real life, those you’ve met on the internet, the opportunity to meet “Martha in CA” was just too good to be true!
We sat at the Café Alfresco in Brewster, MA for about two hours laughing and chatting about what fills our lives: our families, sports, ScrapShare, our past, our present, our likes, our dislikes. What a fascinating and lovely woman. We have a ton in common; but, on the flip side we have enough differences that we could actually have a fun friendship. Since it was the first-ever meeting we managed to avoid religion, politics and foreign affairs! If only she didn’t live in California with me in Canada!
Martha is one of the many ladies from ScrapShare who are blessed with wit, great advice and kind (though sometimes pointed) words! I have a warm spot in my heart for each of them because they are dedicated, kind, courageous, caring and adult. Keyword: adult. They know where to put their energy. They know how (and when) to cut-to-the-chase. They know how to be honest and forthright without being unkind, selfish or stingy. I just want to thank: Martha in CA, Nancy D, Nicole, Elaine, SuiteSioux, Jancy, Nowimscrappin, Cheery Bunny, Martha (I can't remember your screen name!), Cowtown Stacy, ThePhotoAlbumLady, the ladies who read (and comment on!) my blog, CloverGirl, Goodie, Turtle, Jean in TX, Agent713, the ladies in NJ: Kristen, Sharon and Shirley; Simply Coffee and my good off-the-board friend Raindrop. For your kindness, your insight, your honesty and your experience. You brighten my day. Every day.
