The Challenge: Summertiiiiiiiiiiiime, and the living is EEEeeezzzzzzy. Tell us how you feel about summer. This summer, a childhood summer, summer traditions, random summer memories, summer sights and smells and sounds. Whatever. Wax poetic about summertime!I love summer because it gives us all a chance to live outside our regularly scheduled programming of school, hockey, volunteering, activities, projects, organizing and all the other things that fill my ever present calendar!
The kids are attending a few camps to try out things that they would not normally get a chance to do: aeronautics, sailing, theatre arts, dance, golf; in addition to the regular baseball and hockey activities.
We just got back from another relaxing and fun visit to Cape Cod. Each year we really let loose and do things that are only done during our visit: eat seafood EVERY DAY, visit the beach EVERY DAY, watch movies EVERY DAY and then there are the special activities which, this year, included: parasailing, ocean trampoline and banana boats.
Summer is not my favourite season as I always find it gets too hot and muggy for my liking. I'm more of an autumn kind of girl. But I love summer for how happy it makes my kids - and all the resulting photo opportunities!
Oh, and the BBQ steaks, fresh Ontario-grown fruits and veggies and lemon merangue pie are a plus, too!
