This is the perfect image to represent what happened to Cole last night.
He got cut ... and he doesn't measure up. At least, he doesn't in his mind.
He and Louis certainly got dose of how different REP is from House League. Those kids are GOOD. Not that Cole isn't, but compared to his 50 times on the ice last year, the rep kids were on the ice 150 times. Sometimes 2 and 3 times each day. Working with each other to improve their skills. In REP those boys are being coached and taught at every turn instead of "let's have a scrimmage" or some other form of "let's learn nothing".
It's a mind set. Cole is hungry to play a better calibre game but the system limits the opportunity in House League. Last night just emphasized just how wide the chasm has become in three short seasons.
Ah well. A couple of days "off" - translation: "off" to see George at Ice Sports! and then the A/AE tryouts this weekend.
I just don't know if I can stand Cole beating himself up. He demands perfection, of himself, and when he doesn't measure up, he can be so hard on himself.
It is so hard to watch.

Oh man, I cam e expecting to see he made. Ia m sure that is just heartbreaking for Cole and for Mom :( . Here is to hoping a little extra mom love softens the blow.
Aww, Lee. It breaks my heart to read this. Of course, Cole doesn't need to know that there all these women feeling bad for him. =] I hope this experience helps him to be stronger.
