Sue (foleysfriend on SS) is in from Vancouver to visit with her family. A couple of months ago she posted that she was around and could she meet up with anyone from the board. As luck would have it, I was available!
Today was the day.
I recruited Lorraine (raindrop on SS) to meet up with us. My luck meeting "internet friends" has been somewhat suspect of late :( and I wanted Lorraine there just in case - all 5 foot nothing of protection! I picked up Sue from the GO station (funny: she was raised in Toronto and had never been on it!!), took a scenic drive through downtown Oakville and brought her back to show off the house and my well used studio. As it turns out, Sue is just lovely. Very funny, warm and has a twinkle in her eye so I suspect she has her mischievous moments as well!
We met Lorraine at Scrapalicious, a newly-opened scrapbook store in town. More luck? As we were all there chatting and looking at all the delicious new stuff, Donna (dgssask on SS - her user name which I had to remind her of since she is NEVER on the board LOL) walked through the door. YAY! Sue got to meet two of my most favourite people in the world!
We were then off to Stoney's for lunch. We learned that "Day Pasta Special" is not available during lunch. Hmm? Isn't lunch, day? And, why was it listed on the specials menu if it wasn't available? Sometimes things just don't make sense. No matter. Lunch was delicious and fun.
Lorraine then went her way and Sue came with me to pick up Claire from school. Then off to the GO Station for Sue's return trip to Toronto. I have promised to visit Vancouver as soon as I can and I do hope Sue will let us know when she plans to return to Oakville. The welcome mat is out for her anytime!
