Fear gripped our hearts this morning. Chloe came bursting in the kitchen door "Caden fell into the lake". I was paralyzed. Louis moved quickly and by the time the both of us were running out to the back yard our dripping wet little boy was in tears walking towards the house. Shivering from the cold we stripped him down and rushed him into a warm shower. Poor thing.
It turns out the kids were playing baseball in the yard and the ball went into the water. Caden went to retrieve it and lost his balance. Scared himself. Thank goodness he knows how to swim ... this time.
I was in the shower with him, fully dressed, he was fully not. His big grey eyes looking up at me fearful that I was angry. I was. "Caden honey, we can replace a baseball. We can't replace a Caden. Do you get that?" "Yes, mama" followed by a big, full-body, wet hug.

Oh, Lee. That is one of our biggest fears too. We love our pool, but we always worry that one of the little ones will fall in. Glad he is okay. What a scare.
OMG how scary for you! I'm glad Caden is OK. I think I'd be a nervous wreck if we lived closer to water. I panic enough being just a few blocks from the creek!
LEE!!! I have tears filling my eyes. Thank all ye gods and such-like that Caden is ok.
OMG, I can't imagine what you went through! I am so happy he is OK, I am glad you got him swimming lessons! It scares the heck out of me to think this could happen to anyone.
