I've come to realize:

1. I've come to realize my boobs are...
no longer located in the same place they were 5, 10 or 20 years ago.

2. I've come to realize my job...
is thankless, stressful, mind-numbing and more rewarding than I could have ever imagined: my job is not about me so I’d best enjoy every minute of it. The alternative is, by all accounts, wretched.

3. I've come to realize that when I'm driving...
I enjoy driving fast on the highway (120-130km/h) but I’ve recently learned to meander through town. It’s my way of dealing with the idiots who dart out in front of me and then slow down even though there was no one behind me – for kms!

4. I've come to realize that I need...
a dream. Something to focus on, something to look forward to, something to plan. Oh, and someone else to do the laundry for a while. That would be awesome :)

5. I've come to realize that I have lost...
any interest in cooking on a daily basis; the body I once had; any desire to go to a scrapbook retreat; and, all patience with stupid self-involved people.

6. I've come to realize that I hate it when...
Uninformed people “take up the cause” for toxic bitches (who really should have only two words for me: thank you) and feel the need to pick, pick, pick at me throughout the week. If they can’t battle it out for themselves, how is it you’re going to help, exactly? Get the facts, get a clue, get a life.

7. I've come to realize that if I'm drunk...
the me of 20 years ago has magically transported herself into my body.

8. I've come to realize that money...
makes it possible to do many things for your friends, family and community. But it still won’t get you WiiFit if there are none in stock!

9. I've come to realize that certain people...
are remarkably strong no matter what life throws at them. They react with grace, poise and kindness. Others? Not so much. Mantra: it takes all kinds to make a world, it takes all kinds to make a world …

10. I've come to realize that I'll always be...
Opinionated, strong willed, generous, loyal, kind, driven, creative, busy and thoughtful.

12. I've come to realize that my mom...
was never a mother.

13. I've come to realize my cell phone...
is never used as a phone but another means to send and receive e-mail!

14. I've come to realize that when I woke up this morning...
I don’t know if I’ll ever see the sun again. It is still hazy and overcast. Everything out the window is grey and green but you can feel the heat.

15. I've come to realize that last night before I went to sleep...
I was very nervous about my baby being at sleep-away camp.

16. I've come to realize that right now I am thinking about...
what Caden and I are going to do for MamaCamp this week and how I can make grocery shopping a fun activity.

17. I've come to realize that my dad...
is a lovely man who feels deeply and still, at 70, has trouble expressing himself on an emotional level.

18. I've come to realize that when I get on the computer...
I am often overwhelmed with the number of “projects” I have on the go!

19. I've come to realize that today...
is a good day and the start of what should be a very good week.

20. I've come to realize that tonight...
I’ll be at another baseball game! I do hope the rain holds off.

21. I've come to realize that tomorrow I will...
organize that Louis substitute at MamaCamp and take Caden to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Caden really wants to go to the Baseball Hall of Fame too, it’s a 6-hour drive to Cooperstown. Hmm, maybe we should do it!

22. I've come to realize that I really want to...
be ignored. Well, only ignored by “them” not by most.

23.I've come to realize that the person who is most likely to repost is...
Cyn? Sherry? Michelle? I have no idea.

24. I've come to realize that life...
is truly wasted on the young.

25. I've come to realize that this weekend...
was lazy and hazy filled with baseball games, pizza, movies and hours on the highway. People are CRAZY to drive to Muskoka every weekend and slog through that traffic! No wonder everyone is so grumpy on Monday!

26. I've realized the best music to listen to when I am upset...
has to be loud and rockin’ so I can dance madly and sing loudly through the house.

27. I've come to realize that friends...
are to be nurtured and enjoyed. I really enjoy those who challenge and have different opinions and can appreciate that I differ from them as well. I also really enjoy those who are quiet and thoughtful who make me feel loved. Love my diverse collection of buddies!

28. I've come to realize that this year…
was truly enlightening. I was fully engaged. Still evaluating whether or not I should disengage – completely.

What a wonderful, thoughtful post. Thank you for sharing this...btw...it would make a beautiful scrapbook page or mini book!

Your answers are so true, and I can relate to several of them.

I'm sorry you don't have the desire to attend any scrapbook retreats, and I hope you don't disengage completely. Don't let a few spoil the whole bunch.

Lee, Have I told you lately that I love how you write? I LOVE this post! I may have to copy it and post it!
I have to admit that a few of the realizations that you came to made me think about ME and my life. I hope MamaCamp with Caden is great this week! I am sure he will LOVE the time you spend with him. I know Nathan THRIVES during the times we spend with him and he talks about it for days.
As for the scrapbooking retreats - I was a little sad reading that. The retreats are meant to be fun, but sometimes I can see how you could be EMOTIONALLY/MENTALLY/PHYSICALLY ZAPPED by them!
By the way - KEEP WRITING! I love reading your entries!
Love
Cyn

Love this entry, Lee. I am actually going to try and repost. It'll be good for my brain and soul. I am kind of scared to post some of it...because I won't lie. I want to be honest, but it means that I will have to "own" some things. Well. Good for the soul, right? (I know these are meant for fun, but this one can really make you think)

I really enjoyed reading your answers. I am bummed about the no more desire about the retreats though. I was really hoping you would make a surprise appearance at the Nor Cal retreat, just so I could finally meet you. Have fun with Caden at "mamacamp", I'm sure you'll come up with lots of fun activities, even with no sun!
