What to do, what to do ...

Cole is loving the Olympics. So far he wants to participate in many of the different events, primarily rowing and kayaking. Okay, that's do-able. We have a fantastic club here in Oakville and one of our local boys, a member, Adam VanKoeverden is actually AT the Olympics, as world champion, competing in the kayak events.

Yesterday afternoon he came bounding up the stairs. How about FENCING?

Fencing? Are you serious? Huh?

Well, okay, if there is something local. I thought that was a safe bet. Who's heard of fencing around here? Guess what? We have a fencing academy - right down the street from our baseball facility. Cole is now enrolled for 1/2 day beginner camp next week. If he likes it, he can take the beginner course starting in September.

I wonder what's next ...

Camryn loved the fencing, too. I don't get it, but she was fascinated.

You're such a great mom, Lee! I hope he learns a lot next week.

Regardless, he will at least get to see if he's interested. How great will that be if he takes it up after being inspired by the Olympics?!

I love that you take your kids seriously. Not many moms would actually go and look for a fencing class AND follow through with enrolling him. Very neat. =]

This is fantastic!! My son is 3.5 and LOVES watching the gymnastics. He is already in a class at school so he really connects.

After they do something awesome he turns to me and says I can do that and then does something on the floor. We just clap and smile :) LOVE the Olympics!!!
