New Dining Room

Louis and I will have been married for 14 years in November, we've lived together for 15 and never, in four houses, have we had a dining room. We've had rooms meant for dining, but never a dining room.

Until today.

I was so excited waking up this morning and knowing that my dining room furniture would arrive and be all set up by the end of the day. I am thrilled! The pieces look better in our home than in the show room. Truly solid choices - made by me, Louis and the tremendous designers at Interior Design House in Burlington. Louis chose the mirror and it's just what the room needed.

While we were at it, we picked up a few finishing touches for other rooms around the house but the BIG DEAL is the new dining room. I'm anxious to initiate it this weekend when we have guests to share Thanksgiving with us. It's not quite finished as some pieces have not come in yet - area rug, curtains, server - but the pieces that did come in feel perfect. It will be spectacular when it's all done.

Who knows, maybe I'll be inspired to cook again, like I did before we gave up our dining rooms to children's play spaces and scrap rooms!

Is that a round table?
WOW....love me a round table.

I have no dining room envy though...since I don't have a room designated for dining only. But I do have round table envy! Someday...yes, someday I'll convince hubby of the timeless and classic charm of a round table!

It is indeed a round table. As is our table in the kitchen. MUST have a ROUND table. The new one in the dining room has the extensions in - see, it's still ROUND. This may be the reason I waited over a decade for a table! It may be the Dorothy Parker in me and my need for my own personal Algonquin Club, or maybe my affinity for all things Arthurian, but I must have a ROUND table ;)

It is lovely, Lee! And I love the table. Unfortunately, round and families of 8 just don't mix.

Looks perfect, Lee. You already know that I love the colors in there. So rich and warm. Tell your hubby that the mirror is also just right!

Love your taste. I always liked a formal dining room. I currently do not have one but do love the idea of sitting around the dining room table for hours talking with guests. The mirror is perfect for that wall that is the first thing I noticed then the beautiful flowers. Enjoy many many years of good conversation and wine.
