The gift of experiences

Cole was given the gift of the NHL All Star Game for his 12th birthday (officially on January 29). My dad has always given experiences as gifts - events or trips - true memories to be cherished. It was no different this year. The tickets came but we said nothing to Cole until he was in the car on the way to the ferry. The ferry? He and Louis took the ferry to get across to the Island Airport in Toronto in order to fly to Montreal for the game on Sunday evening.

The rest of the photos were taken by Louis and Cole during their trip. The camera was handed to me with the disclaimer that they couldn't figure out the settings. They're right:

On Monday, they took a trip to Old Montreal and visited the Basilica, which his always a highlight. At 5:15PM, we picked them up at the Bronte station to rush home, pick up the pre-packed hockey bag and head off to Georgetown. They were "on time" with two minutes to spare. Cole's team won 6-0.

Never a dull moment. It's good to know my job as family photographer is safe, well, at least from the boys!

What a cool gift! I think I'm going to suggest that to my mom for next gift-giving season.
