I wish you could hear the changing of our seasons. Summer is indeed giving way to Autumn.
The wind has changed direction and the waves are forming and coming in to shore where they have been quite still for the last few months. The roar is violent, loud and invigorating; it is both frightening and assuring.
Yesterday the lake water was crashing against the retaining wall. The spray was incredible from my view out the back windows of the house. I was encouraged to take some photos and I'm glad I did! (Normally I prefer my dry view from the family room.) This was the very last photo taken - you can see the waves and the spray; a hint of the darkening horizon. I like to think you can hear the roar as well!
