I embrace many things including change and my own imperfection, it takes me a while to act and verbalize my acceptance of such things. Bottom line: I am slow. Which is in direct opposition to my instincts; which are fast, and how I manage to sign up for all these courses in the first place. Sounds good? Sign me up!
Right now, I'm fascinated with my Blogging for Scrapbookers course. I am, no big surprise, behind.
There are some kernels of brilliance in the basic blueprint, things explained in such a way that my technophobic self can thoroughly understand; and, I plan to use! I am happy to report, that I already use my tabs (colour coded, even!) and LOVE and use my Google Reader every day, sometimes even twice! I can't imagine my life on the internet without either.
The idea of the Blogging for Scrapbookers course, at it's core, is how best to combine two similar activities to best benefit ourselves and others? The first assignment is to determine what it is we want to achieve, both blogging and scrapbooking throughout the duration of the course. Now you see the immediacy required for this course to "work", right?
These are my intentions, not promises by any means, but this is what I'd like to attempt to make stick in the next three weeks:
- I want to write more authentic, from me, blog posts as opposed to posts passing along the brilliance of others. I have my own brilliance to share :)
- I want to never use another stock photo again. In combination with my effort to write more authentically, I want to share my own photographic work
- I post every day - on two blogs, at least one gets a post! - which is sometimes hard. I'd like to continue to post every day but learn how to put things in draft so I can, occasionally, have a thorough, meaningful, controversial, deep, post accumulated over the course of a few days or even weeks.
- I want to share projects: the beginning, middle and end. This might force me to actually finish all these things I start!
- I want to develop my own projects to share.
- I want to understand the technology of the blog better to offer complementary links and ideas to the content.
- I love my meme's! I've now purged the blog-lite ones in an effort for more meaningful versions, versions that offer more of what I have to say than the author of the meme.
- I want to decide on whether or not maintaining two blogs is beneficial, to me or to you, the reader. Because of that, each post will be put on BOTH blogs. It may provide me with the data required to make a more informed decision.
If you have any feeback to what you'd like to see on the blog, please feel free to let me know.

Your goals for this course are fantastic! It's great we can take things at our own pace and really learn instead of just 'doing' for the sake of being caught up.
I'm taking this class also and was surprised how much I have learned already! Love your list - will be examining it closer!
Very well written, I love your list. I also have to say I love the look of your blog. Good luck with your intentions!
Sounds like a great class. Where are you taking it and is it too late to sign up? Now I'm intrigued :)
Wonderful goals! Sounds like a fabulous class and if I weren't already so over-booked with "life" I'd be jumping in there with you too. Do you know if they'll be offering it again? Sounds like something I NEED to take. lol
hmm, I didn't even realize you had two blogs. I think that your intentions look great! I can't wait to see what comes of class for you!
