Blog Challenge #4: Laugh

This week, write about the last time you had a really good laugh. A belly laugh. A laugh that took your breath away. A laugh that starved you of oxygen and gave you a headache. A laugh where you tossed your head back and really let 'er rip.

If you can't recall a time when you've laughed that hard, then figure out WHY NOT, and write about that.

Laughter. It's good for the soul. If only it burned more calories.

I posed this blog challenge to my children, Claire and Cole. They both had puzzled looks on their faces like I had just asked their pre-teen little minds to do some calculus problem. Their wide-eyed response: “but mama, you laugh all.the.time”.

They’re right. In my great big life, I find a giggle in just about everything. I have a full.out.gut.wrenching.headache.inducing.belly.laugh at least once, if not twice every day. According to Cole, if he is looking for me, he just has to wait a few minutes and he’ll just follow my laugh to find me. I suppose that’s better than hearing me scream and yell to find me!

Most of the people I spend my limited free time with laugh. We laugh A LOT! One of the saddest realizations I ever came to was: many of the people I know, friends and family, do not laugh. They do not laugh with abandon. They can no longer find their funny bone. They can’t find the lemonade!

I don’t know what I’d do if I lost the lemonade …

PS The biggest part of this challenge? Finding a photo that “goes with” my laughing. So, I chose the source of my greatest joy. Look at them all - don't they make you laugh, too?
