Money buys time

Every day, more than once, I visit my favourite scrapbook support site: Scrapshare. I’ve been going on and off for the last couple of years. The site is filled with fabulous ideas; brilliant insight; and professional as well as personal support. It has a real family atmosphere: the good and the bad. Actually, for a message board of over 4000 active users it has way more good than bad! There has been a ton of talk over the last little while about upcoming changes, possible advertising, etc. The board is funded by t-shirt sales and out of the pocket of the Jay and Elaine who are administrators extraordinaire! One day last week while reading two particular threads I decided to send some money to the site. I sent a private message to Jay to find out how much it costs to run the site but neglected to tell him the reason for my inquiry. I had already purchased a few t-shirts so I had their paypal account. What would happen if I sent a bit of money?

Sitting at the top of one of the forums is a big “thank you” note from Jay, with 1,600 views and close to a hundred replies. I’ve also received a dozen or so private messages from those who bothered to look me up in the directory and send me a note.

I’m overwhelmed.

Money does buy time and I hope everyone is motivated to send some in so that Jay and Elaine can continue to carefully weigh all decisions and continue as the conscience and thoughtful caretaker of the board I love so much!

Lee, I haven't got around to chiming in but I want to add my big huge thank you!!! I just read your next blog entry (about favourite words) and I believe that "generous" is the best one to apply to you.
Thank you! May your kindness return a thousand fold!
