Technically, The Masters golf tournament, played in Augusta, Georgia starts TODAY! To me? The real coverage starts on Saturday. That is when CBS takes over and you hear the music and watch the cinematography that lets me know that the greatest golf tournament ever, the one with all of the history and tragedy and triumph, has really begun. Spring has officially arrived.
Well before golf was a 12-month-a-year sport and Tiger Woods was the man to beat, I couldn't wait for this weekend. It meant that Spring was in the air and golf season had begun. Our golf season. As in, dust off the clubs and off to the driving range!
So cue the music. Let's go golfing!

Would you still like me if you knew what I did some 15 or so years ago? On a road trip with my friend, we were visiting her aunt/uncle in Georgia and we...turned down a chance to go watch the Masters that weekend (they had extra tickets for some pre-tournie practice round)? My dad has still not forgiven me for my stupidity...and while I try to live my life with no regrets, that decision, I totally regret!
