First let me say that I'm proud of myself. I actually KEPT my appointment with the YMCA personal trainer, Julie. I showed up at the appointed time of 11:30AM. An hour an a half later I felt as though I've been run over by a truck. Or an elliptical machine!
I am absolutely pooped. But it feels good, you know?
The best part of the day was the realization that my fat wrapped muscles remember what to do. Julie was somewhat surprised and delighted when I knew exactly how to use each machine and the speed with which I executed each station. That means s.l.o.w. You see, a very long time ago, I was trained in free weights.
I hate cardio. Truly. But, we've found a way to fit it in between the preferred weight lifting exercises. The elliptical machine proved to be my least favourite of the day. But who knows, if it helps me become half of who I am today, it may just become my favourite in the end!
The good part? The program has been developed and with the magic key I can access it any time. The bad part? Private training won't start until July 14th. I've promised to do 3 days of weights or resistance training each week and at least 2 walks of over 2km. It's totally doable.
It's just a matter of me doing it.
So, stay on me, okay?
If you see me, call me, e-mail me or comment on the blog, tell me to get off the freaking computer and go for a walk!
:)

Good for you! Greg and the boys got me a home gym for Mother's Day. I've been enjoying it, but I really need to use it more.
