July 12 of 12

Kind of fun having an assignment on the weekend. Things are always so random.

It's an icky day, so no great outdoor shots and no sailboats floating by, but here was my day, such as it was:

Is there anything better than that first sip of coffee in the morning? I think not! I'm really particular about my coffee - with plantation sugar, half and half and it has to be really strong. I prefer the half and half, but in a pinch I'll suffer through the 18% table cream they use at Tim Horton's. Extra Large: double cream, one sugar, please!

When I got home there was a package from a friend. Enclosed were photos of her adorable daughter playing t-ball. I've offered to do a "trading pages" with her - though I'm the one doing the page, no trade involved. I cannot wait to start. I took another look today and I think I'm formulating a plan. Time to get my scrapbooking mojo back!

Claire can only get wireless internet in her sister's room. So, for a price - be nice - she was MSNing her friends and setting up her new school assigned computer.

Chloe loves sitting on her loft bed. Today she is taking her nickname "The Gazette" to heart and writing down things for her articles "Boyfriend or Not", "Webkinz World: Juicy Thoughts" and "Won't Get Out" about Claire in her room!

When we arrived home earlier this week, there was a pile of lumber sitting in front of our neighbour's house. Higher than the garage door! We were so relieved as the house went up for sale about this time last year. Though the original owners have moved out (to the house next door to it!) and no one moved in. We soon questioned our delight when each morning the hammering started around 7AM. They were quick! The whole new second floor is framed in three days. Wow.

Cole really enjoys playing hockey. He had such a wonderful day today with his line mates Oscar and Justin. A beautiful goal scored in the 3rd period. Really a fun game to watch.

While we're watching the game, Caden is organizing fun and games in the spectator area.

Did you know that you eat a wish chip this way? Do you know what a wish chip is? Too funny. Caden gave me a very serious lecture about both of these questions. Clearly, as mama, I do not know anything. And it starts ...

My afternoon was spent surfing. I really enjoy the General Scrappin' message board at Two Peas. Great group of ladies. You can find links to a few of their blogs added to the list on the right. Huge difference between the GS and the NSBR board, that's for sure!

I really enjoy Mix 99.9 and so do the kids. It seems to be our communication link. The big deal today? The first time we heard the Ryan Seacrest countdown show. Though it lacks in Canadian content, it's still pretty good. I am a big fan of his. He really has come a long way in a few years. Hard work, tons of hours spent learning and perfecting his craft. A good man, I think.

I don't know if any of you remember when these were first planted, but the tomatoes are taking on a life of their own. I'm having second thoughts about putting two plants in one container! So far no fruit, tons of flowers, so I think that's promising.

Wicked headache. Wicked headache ever since we returned home. Even Cyn, when she first saw me yesterday mentioned that I looked like crap. Only a true friend would do that! Nah, she mentioned I looked tired, and really, I wasn't but just a dull throbbing ache.

So those are my 12 photos to celebrate this, the 12th of the month. I'm done early only because I'm having a hard time concentrating! Plans for tonight? Louis (good man that he is) just called for Chinese Take Out, the kids are hanging out in the family room deciding on a movie - "Ella Enchanted" or "Because of Winn Dixie" and Cole is trying to figure out our viewing plans for after 9PM. It's not looking good ... but they have found the Calgary Stampede coverage. I'm thinking I'll be sleeping, but right now it's keeping them occupied and getting along!

OMG: Totally spaced it is the 12th. While it isn't too late to come up with something...I'm not sure I have the creative mojo restored yet.

But, great to see some of us can return from Holiday and hit the ground running (headache and all!)

(This comment came in from Martha, but in my headache-induced-state, I hit "reject" instead of "publish". Argh!)

Oh Lee, I'm glad you noted the Lee tag...as I thought WHAT DID I DO to assume Lee's identity? (Having earlier included my password in a comment I left on another blog!)

Now, while I wouldn't MIND being you, I'm also perfectly content being me...

Go get some rest and hopefully the headache will be gone by morning!

LOVE the first sip of coffee in the morning.
What in the world is a wish chip?
Is that basil growing next to your tomatoes?
I hope that I can one day have you do a page for my photos *bats eyelashes* Pretty please?
Loved a peek into your day my friend!
