(TMI ALERT) Dr. Oz: Marriage Councellor

From the use of Neti Pots to the drinking of green goop to the writing of books to the direct discussion about the healthy colour of poo: this guy is incredible. He is relaxed. He is approachable. He is forthright. He is charismatic. He is engaging. He is unflappable.

He is who I want as my doctor.

Well, that's not going to happen. But I'm thrilled to have access to him via Oprah and his book.

A few months ago, maybe more, Louis was home listening to Oprah. Why? Mehmet Oz was on discussing the health of men. Not a topic that would grab Louis' interest, but it did grab mine. After all: Louis has had Cancer, Louis smokes, Louis is over-weight, Louis is doctor-phobic.

[Reminder: since we opened Frozen Ropes and our hours are 4PM to 10PM, I spend much time with Louis at home. with me. throughout the day. He was at home. all day. He is here with me. most. days. Are we clear on this?]

Okay, so, surprise, the topic of sex was raised by a man in the audience. A man. In the Oprah audience. An obvious set up! But I digress. The question: how much sex does a man need each week.

The answer? At least 4 times out of the 7 days of each week.

Um. Really?

4 times, eh?

It, apparently, makes them happier, easier to deal with and less irritable.

So, months later, I can attest that the great doctor is right. I have given this advice to a few close girlfriends and with their stamp of approval, I'm passing on this advice as well worth the effort.

After all, it's about an hour out of your week, right?

Happy is worth an hour, right?

So, there is my marriage advice, from Dr. Oz.

I have been doing neti kettle for years and it is a instant healer. I don't know about Dr. OZ. I am glad people are sharing the goodness and natural healing remedies in the world with others.

For starters, thanks for making the TMI not about the character and consistency of your poop. snicker snicker...

But yeah, I've passed along a similar suggestion to some of my friends. And as a sports family, you'd appreciate the way I explain it to some of my friends...
"sometimes, you just need to take one for the team. You'll be glad that you did!"

So when DH is away from home for two weeks at a time, does that mean we have to catch up with 12 times in the one week he is home? Not likely!!
