Olympics: Spectacular Opening Ceremony

What a thoroughly fantastic event!

The symbolism, the costumes, the precision. Holy smokes was that ever wonderful. Lucky me, I got to watch it twice. The first time - in "real time" - on CBC and then last evening on the "packaged" NBC coverage. Gotta love Bob Costas' never ending handle on minutiae! Even more fun? I got to watch the NBC coverage of, "oh, it's a little boy", while on MSN with a friend. So much fun!

You will find more than a few awe inspiring photos here. This is an amazing site I go to often when looking for current event photos. It appeals to the photo journalist somewhere in my soul.

Ah, I am an Olympics junkie. I am going to thoroughly enjoy the next couple of weeks!

We too watched. My sis lives outside of Detroit and she has said a couple times one of the good things about living there, is that they can watch the Canadians broadcast the Olympics and other sporting events without all the talking heads of American TV!

Hope you share more Olympic inspired posts on your blog!
