I had to do a double-take

I just looked at the calendar to figure out the logistics of our week. What to my wondering eyes would appear? NO HOCKEY GAMES. Plenty of practices, but no games, no traveling, no getting to rinks an hour before games, no panicked checking for jerseys, sticks, skates on the drives to Orangeville, Flamborough, Caledon, Stoney Creek, Brampton or Georgetown.

We don't play a game until December 2nd.

Yes, WE. Though Cole does the actual hockey playing, hockey participation is certainly a full family activity.

This has been such a tremendous experience, but with the weather turning, it's nice to have a bit of a break before the end of the season and before playoffs start. A chance to regroup. A chance to do homework at the table rather than in a moving vehicle. A chance to get the winter tires put on the truck!

Awww...enjoy the extra time. I know what it's like to always being on the go. We love what we do, but a break now and again is very nice, too!
