The Musical Brain

Love me some Sting. He is so incredibly talented and continues to challenge himself to grow as a person and as a musician. One of my favourites, for sure.

At the beginning of hockey season, I ran into my friend Sue at our local Chapters book store, she was buying a book for her brother, entitled: This is Your Brain on Music by Daniel Levitin. I found it fascinating because if you know anything about my husband Louis, you know he is an audiophile. A complete music geek. He has thousands of LPs and CDs and has almost managed to fill his 80gig iPod. I can never buy him music, this book and The World in Six Songs was PERFECT.

A few weeks back, our great Canadian television magazine show W-Five, showed a whole episode dedicated to this topic. Well, once I found out that Sting was one of the subjects, I was glued to the television.

I thought I had posted it here on the blog then realized I hadn't - what I had done was post it on Facebook for a couple of girlfriends. They loved it. So, in the interest of passing on something fabulous - and since many of you don't get W-Five, here is the presentation of The Musical Brain. Enjoy!

I'm sorry ... did you say something? I'm a little distracted by the hotness staring at me.

My God, he is a beautiful man.
