50 Moments

Lisa Bearnson is wound a little tight for my taste - and I don't want to be around when she finally blows - but I did pick up her book "50 Moments: Scrapbook the Pages That Matter Most" at the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Buffalo in May. I have been carting it around in my bag and reading it while waiting for children for the last month. I have just finally finished the book.

My verdict: buy it!

Of late, I've had many conversations with friends who are:

1. Overwhelmed with the number of photos they have which need to be organized, scrapped, framed or whatever.
2. Tired of meaningless journaling - who, what, where - instead of why and how it felt, more senses journaling
3. Looking for a way to be more "in the moment" as opposed to chronicalling every moment.

For those reasons and more, this is a great book to get. Truly, I've never been a "scrap every photo because you took it therefore it has meaning" album maker. This book certainly appeals to my desire to scrapbook only those pages which have meaning - the event, photo and journaling all come together in a way that makes it worthy of honour in a scrapbook.

I realize that my scrapbooking only 50 pages will simply never happen, but it is a great idea. And the ideas of just what those moments should be are thought provoking and creative.

Oh, Lee! This book sounds like exactly what I need. Even though we never had that conversation, I have said those things many times. I am going to trust your judgement and hunt for that book. =]
