Overwhelmed with kindness and calm ...

and the chaos of coming back home.

I am utterly overwhelmed and full of joy after experiencing the company of six such spectacular women for such a tremendous weekend. The ladies who joined me in Cape Cod for this past weekend - a weekend never to be duplicated - were diverse, talented and entertaining. I daresay, a more diverse group could never be rediscovered. I was thrilled to be able to share my good fortune and let them, my friends, experience something, somewhere, that means so much to me. Paradise: calm, beautiful, and inspiring.

To have them with me, sharing my version of paradise, was overwhelming to be sure.

Each brought such a different feel, experience, humour and talent to the weekend. I do not think I have words to express about each woman in such a way that you can appreciate them the way I do. I was in awe of each one of them.

I'm not talking about scrapbooking or crafting talent. They have that in abundance. Over and above, these women have tremendous life experiences, insight, idiosyncrasies, opinions and beliefs. We embraced all of it. No one took offense, no one was too forceful, no one lacked humour, it was truly an adult weekend were you were entitled and respected for your experience and opinion and, in turn, appreciated the insight brought by someone who did not share your feelings. The vindication of those who did share your insight and encouraged ownership was refreshing (not to point fingers, but, thanks, Kristi!)

I learned so much. To each of them I will be forever thankful for what they brought to me one weekend before summer break in 2008.

(As is my habit, proclivity, pattern, I have turtled. Every time I have a huge personal experience, I need a few days to decompress. To evaluate. To absorb. Not much has been added to this blog the past few days because I was experiencing everything - fully, with no distractions. Now I am absorbing. I'll be back. No doubt with something light and fluffy, sometime by the end of the week. So, have a great couple of days!)

Lee,

It was an amazing weekend! Everyone should get to experience a weekend like that. Absolutely wonderful! I love you so much for thinking of it, for organizing it, for hosting it and for cleaning up from it!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Missed your posts Lee, but totally understand why. =] Not only did your trip sound wonderful, but the way you described the diversity of your friends with such care...well that is just priceless. Take time. It is special and needs to soak all the way in!

WOW! Sounds like a weekend to be remembered! It is really great that all those people who are all very different really did get a long without a hint of drama. Which is always a good thing! Your writing is so eloquent and I love reading your descriptions of everything! I can "picture" it in my mind when you write and that is the best thing!
Love and Hugs,
Cyn
