DAY: Make Your Dream Come True

Oh, H. D., how you mock me every morning.

I have come to realize that I have caused worry and concern with my friends over my post at the first of the year when I, perhaps too honestly, asked for help finding a dream.

The reality is, my dream came true: I have four lovely kids. Mind you they are NOT named Adam, Thomas, Zachary and George, but I do have four fabulous kids I wouldn't trade for the four boys I thought (for far too long) I would have. I have not quite survived the raising of those four kids, but they are four lovely, loving, happy, laugh-filled, well-adjusted (knock wood), intelligent, fun, humorous and athletic monsters whom I love more than life itself.

Now I live a life of purpose as opposed to a life of dream fulfillment. A life of purpose is rewarding but it is not the same. I am happy with my life. Some days are better than others, but I'm not looking for dramatic changes (hell, I really hate drama and cut it out of my life whenever it enters), I don't know that I'm looking for changes at all. But I do know that there is something empty. A hole that needs to be filled.

So, this is, according to my list of "Fairly Odd Holidays" the day to Make Your Dream Come True. My intention is to start. Today.

What are your dreams? Are you fulfilling them?

Great post today Lee. We do have so much to be grateful for. Enjoy your massage today. I might go book one myself for Friday! I wish I lived closer to you too!

great posts! I love your post on the first also and feel I need to follow so many of the same things. One being the whole "use what you have". I love how much can be learned blog hopping. Oh and I did several blurb books and love them!!

Great post, Lee. I can truly say that I am happy with my life. I am like you where I may not be where I thought I'd be (children, job, etc), but I am happy. I do have dreams of accomplishing and doing...but those are ongoing. Once I "achieve" or fulfill a dream, I get another one - because we should always have a dream, right? =] Have a great day!

Great post Lee. My life is not necessarily the one I "dreamed" either but to be honest it's more than I dreamed it would be too. And purpose is so important. Yet sometimes hard to keep in perspective too. Especially when you are a mother! I dream of being a fairy princess and I break out my tiara every so often and live my dream!

WOW!!! This was a great blog idea! I have that exact quote on my fridge as a magnet. I LOVE that quote.
I can honestly say that I fulfilled a dream I never knew that I had by marrying Ben. But since then, the dreams are hiding from me.
My "BIG" dream was to build a spa/retreat center with a gym inside it. It will probably NEVER be done. Too much money for this stay at home mum!!! ;)
I think our dreams evolve as we grow up. We realize we can never afford a huge dream like that and move onto do something else.....
I guess part of my dream has been realized by the planning of Skyline and other stuff like it. :)
