Rock On: Risk

Yes, Char, I was mightily tempted to entitle this post Kick Rocks - but I didn't want to take it in that direction ;)

Last November, I was blog surfing and stumbled upon the Etsy shop belonging to McCabe. It very much appealed to me and I joined her "Rock of the Month Club". I had no idea what might arrive or what I might do with it, but I do know inspiration when I see it! I wanted a little bit of that creativity and imagination and plain only positivity to "rub off" on me, if only in a small way.

I received my first surprise in the mail this week. I was so excited to open up the envelope to find this lovely "Take A Risk" rock carefully wrapped in cloth. Funny how such a small thing can get the creative thoughts flowing!

In my life, I've taken plenty of risks, certainly many of them in the last few months, and will continue to take them. But maybe, just maybe by the time my next rock arrives, I will take an intended risk. After all without taking a risk you receive no return, right?

What have you risked? Was it intentional? Unintentional? What was the return received? Was it worth the risk?

Lee, I have been saving a box of perfectly smooth, flat, beach stones to make them into lady bugs and to write words of inspiration on them and I just hadn't gotten around to it. My husband even asked about the "box of rocks" =]...what an inspiration! Looking at those is making me feel eager to finish the "cutesy" altering and get on to the real inspirational stuff that wants to come out. Thanks for always sharing the coolest stuff!

risk is a hard thing to move through for a non risker like me...however, I think it interesting how each of us identify different things as risky. Food for though for the last few minutes of my twins nap time...:)

This is funny ... in an indirect way, I just blogged about taking risks.

I think the biggest chance I took was getting married again. I say "chance" because in my head, chance has a little more thought put in to it whereas risk has a little more impetuous behind it.

Then again, my head works in weird ways.

So far, it's worked out great ... but I'm waiting until the upstairs bathroom is remodeled before I make my final decision.
